The GAMSAT Score Explained

The GAMSAT is scored for each of the three sections, together with an overall score. The overall score is  a weighted average of the three section scores.  Each of the four scores will be expressed on a scale of 0 to 100 (Note that these are not percentage marks)

The overall GAMSAT score is  calculated using the following formula:

Overall Score = (1 x Section I + 1 x Section II + 2 x Section III) ÷ 4

You also receive a percentile ranking for your  overall score. This gives you indication on how well you performed against other candidates that sat the GAMSAT the same month.  You ideally want to be in the 60th percentile and above.

You can use this ranking to get an idea on how strong you are as a candidate when you apply to universities. Each university  has there own approach how their assess applicants scores, some set their own cut-off scores from year to year, whilst others might have a unique approach. Take the time to research entry requirements.
